Gravitas was one of the Roman virtues, weight and dignity, derived from gravis: heavy, repose in themselves.

Grounded to earth through the eschewal of a foot at the base of its stem, the Gravitas glass both catches and demands the attention of every wine connoisseur. Inspired by the idea of winemaker Peter Veyder-Malberg each glass balances gently on a ball at its foot and

a graceful dint in its bowl. This precarious balance commands a similar respect for the wine itself. In a Gravitas glass, the wine reveals itself in all its colour against a bright background, coats the surface of the sidewalls and instantly imparts its inner character. This unique shape requires the connoisseur to pose it on the table with the same care he affords the wine.
